The Hub Community Market is at the heart of Taree, in the mountains where the river meets the sea on the NSW north coast. This is a wonderful area to explore and requires more than a day trip if you are going to drive more than 5 hours north of Sydney just to visit the market. This is truly a community market. The Manning River Lions Club took over running The Hub 4 years ago and all profits are distributed throughout the community. Money is donated to organisations such as surf clubs, Ronald McDonald House, families in crisis; to wherever it can make a difference in the community. The Hub Community Market has been running for more than 30 years at various locations around the area and moved from the racecourse to Taree Showground early in 2008. You will find all manner of products from plants to produce, meat products, clothes, bric-a-brac, computer software, photography, paintings – all the great things you expect to find at a country market across about 80 stalls. The market has undercover facilities and goes ahead no matter what the weather. This is an ideal spot to take a short break. Spend some time exploring the breathtaking mountains and visit the some of the state’s best beaches.
